In this clip he talks about the historical background and the so-called Arab Slave trade. Mamdani argues that there was never an Arab invasion into Darfur or Arab led slave trade in this region. Actually the local powers ARABIZED themselves because being Arab was considered as civilized and these powers could also claim legitimacy by declaring themselves to be descendants of the Prophet and other important figures in the Holy Land.
